A Northern Ireland businesswoman has been recognised in the Construction Industry Training Board’s Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction Awards 2024.
Melanie Dawson, a director at Belfast based Origin7 which offers a range of services focusing on BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Digital Construction, was named in the ‘Local Heroes’ category which recognises exceptional women from nine different regions across the United Kingdom who are currently working at an operational or site level role in construction.
Origin7 was launched in August 2020 to provide BIM and Digital Construction Consultancy services to all who procure, design, build or maintain assets in the built environment across the UK and Ireland.
The Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction Awards, which celebrates and honours the outstanding individuals within the sector, took place in Birmingham at the start of UK Construction Week. The awards ceremony was hosted by the National Federation of Builders.
The UK’s Most Influential Overall accolade was awarded to Katherine Evans, an engineer specialising in subsurface and mineral extraction and founder of Cardiff based Bold as Brass which campaigns for women’s protection in safety-critical workplaces.
