CPA Gala Dinner Returns as Association Celebrates 85 Years

Following the success of its inaugural Gala Dinner last year, the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has announced the return of one of the industry’s premier networking and celebration events, with the CPA Gala Dinner 2026 taking place on Thursday 5 November 2026 at Liverpool’s magnificent St George’s Hall.

This year’s event carries even greater significance as it forms part of the CPA’s celebrations marking 85 years of representing the UK’s construction plant-hire sector.

The black-tie Gala Dinner has quickly established itself as a flagship event in the construction calendar, bringing together CPA members, manufacturers, suppliers and industry leaders for an evening of networking, entertainment and celebration in one of Britain’s most iconic venues.

Guests will enjoy a welcome drinks reception followed by a three-course gala dinner created by chefs with Michelin-level experience, before an evening of entertainment hosted by industry journalist and online content creator Peter Haddock.

Providing the headline entertainment this year will be Martin Johnson CBE, England Rugby World Cup-winning captain and one of sport’s most respected leaders, alongside legendary comedian Mick Miller, whose career has entertained audiences for more than four decades.

As one of the UK’s finest examples of neoclassical architecture, the Grade I-listed St George’s Hall provides a spectacular backdrop for the event. Situated in the heart of Liverpool opposite Lime Street Railway Station, the venue is renowned for its breathtaking Great Hall and has featured in numerous television dramas and films, including Peaky Blinders and The War of the Worlds.

Steve Mulholland, Chief Executive Officer of the CPA, said: “The response to our inaugural Gala Dinner exceeded all expectations and demonstrated just how much our industry values opportunities to come together away from the day-to-day pressures of business. It was a fantastic evening that generated an incredible atmosphere, and we’re delighted to be returning to St George’s Hall for 2026.

“This year’s event is particularly special as we celebrate the CPA’s 85th anniversary. For more than eight decades the Association has represented and supported the plant-hire sector, and the Gala Dinner provides the perfect opportunity to recognise that heritage while celebrating the people, businesses and relationships that continue to drive our industry forward.

“Whether you’re reconnecting with long-standing industry colleagues, meeting new contacts or simply enjoying an exceptional evening in one of the country’s most prestigious venues, the CPA Gala Dinner promises to be one of the highlights of the construction calendar once again.”

Tables of 10, half tables of five and individual tickets are now available to book. Demand is expected to be high following the success of last year’s event, while a limited number of sponsorship opportunities are also available, offering premium brand exposure throughout the evening.
