CM Labs Simulations, vendor for simulation-based training solutions in the construction industry, has announced Trimble Design File Import, a new feature that allows construction organizations to train and prepare operators using project-specific site designs. The release also expands Trimble Earthworks Autos support to the Intellia Dozer Simulation Curriculum, extending automation-assisted training to dozer grading workflows.
Contractors often encounter new site plans for the first time under active production conditions, where strict requirements, compressed timelines, and operating costs leave little room for error. However, rushed or inadequate training is a major safety risk. An OSHA survey of 500 construction workers found that 42% don’t report feeling safe at work, and for good reason: in recent years, construction and extraction workers experienced the highest rates (20%) of work-related fatalities of any industry.
As part of the Intellia Workforce Training System, the new custom Trimble Design File Import feature allows operators to train and practice earthmoving tasks under real-world conditions, sharpening field performance and lowering the risk of jobsite incidents. File import also supports mission planning, giving contractors a way to evaluate project-specific site designs and earthmoving tasks and helping operators build confidence before experiencing those conditions under live production pressure.

TRIMBLE EARTHWORKS AUTOS FOR THE DOZER
Building on CM Labs’ existing Trimble Earthworks Autos integration for the Intellia Tracked Excavator Simulation Curriculum, CM Labs now extends support to the Dozer. This allows operators to practice automation-assisted grading workflows that more closely reflect modern machine-control operations.
Together, these updates to the Trimble offering expand the role of the CM Labs simulation training system beyond foundational operator development. Powered by authentic machine behavior and real-world machine control technology, the enhancements enable construction organizations to integrate operator training, mission planning, and project-specific practice within a single training environment.
